Muskoka Cottage Renovation – Rosseau Lake Rd (2025)

Project Overview

This spacious Muskoka cottage (8,000sqf) was fully captured using Matterport 3D scanning, providing a detailed digital twin of the property. My work included precise measurement of 95 windows, full floor-to-ceiling scans, and creation of floor plans, elevations, and a comprehensive PDF report with dimensions. This sophisticated 3D scanning process allows the client—in this case, a contractor—to plan renovations, estimate renovation costs, calculate material requirements, and prepare presentations for their clients.

Why It Worked

  • In just 4 hours, we scanned the entire 8,000 sqf Muskoka cottage, capturing 95 windows, exterior walls, interior elevations, main floors, and unfinished basement.

  • All measurements were turned into clear floor plans, elevations, and detailed reports, providing an editable visual reference for designers and contractors.

  • 3D model hosting lets the client review remotely, saving travel time and costs.

  • This approach enables confident renovation planning, cost estimation, and material calculations.

Warehouse Facility Virtual Tour (2026)

Project Summary

Completed a detailed scan of the warehouse, tagging machinery, storage systems, loading docks, and safety stations. Each tag links to manuals, demonstration videos, and operational notes. The digital tour allows:

  • Staff onboarding: employees can familiarize themselves with warehouse layout, machinery operation, and safety protocols remotely.

  • Maintenance and inspections: quick access to equipment documentation without being onsite.

  • Operational planning & renovations: precise dimensions and machine positions help plan upgrades, workflow adjustments, and expansions.

  • Digital record-keeping: all equipment and infrastructure are documented for historical reference.

How This Helped

  • Interactive tours reduce training time and mistakes by immersive visualization.

  • Linked resources provide instant, context-specific guidance.

  • Digital documentation supports predictive maintenance and operational planning, improving efficiency and safety.

Bakery Facility Virtual Tour (2025)

Project Overview

Scanned the bakery facility with full Matterport capture, tagging all equipment (ovens, mixers, proofers, packaging machines) and linking manuals, tutorial videos, and safety instructions. The tour is designed to:

  • Facilitate onboarding: new staff can explore the facility virtually before stepping onsite.

  • Support maintenance management: maintenance staff have direct access to equipment specs and manuals.

  • Aid planning for renovations: exact measurements and equipment locations allow architects and engineers to plan updates without multiple site visits.

  • Serve as knowledge archive: a complete digital record of the facility for future reference.

Why It Worked

  • Visual, interactive 3D tours reduce the need for repeated physical walkthroughs.

  • Tagged equipment with links ensures instant access to manuals and videos, speeding up training and troubleshooting.

  • Digital tours create long-term records, useful for compliance, audits, and operational continuity.

Party Room Virtual Tour (2026)

Project Overview

Captured a detailed Matterport scan of the party room, highlighting layout, furniture, AV equipment, lighting, and decor zones. The tour is designed to:

  • Showcase the space to potential renters (weddings, corporate events, birthday parties, product launches), allowing them to explore virtually before booking.

  • Event planning: vendors (caterers, decorators, AV teams) can pre-plan setups, furniture arrangements, and equipment placement without visiting the site in person.

  • Booking efficiency: clients can make confident decisions faster by seeing the exact space digitally.

  • Marketing & promotion: the interactive tour can be shared online, increasing visibility and rental inquiries.

  • Future reference: keeps a digital record of the venue layout for operations or seasonal decorations.

Why It Worked

  • Prospective renters get an immersive, realistic walkthrough, reducing questions and uncertainties.

  • Vendors can coordinate logistics remotely, saving time and avoiding miscommunication.

  • Virtual access allows pre-visualization of setups, improving event efficiency and reducing last-minute adjustments.

  • Enhances online marketing by providing an interactive showcase versus static photos.
